• PRESENTATION

The University of Gloucestershire has a history of providing higher education for over 175 years.
Its foundation dates back to 1834 when it was established as a Teacher Training Institute.

The University has a distinctive character that has been shaped through the merger of numerous colleges
in the Gloucestershire area during the 19th and 20th centuries and developed to its current status
as a modern University in October 2001.

The University of Gloucestershire is a university primarily based in Gloucestershire, England,
on four campuses, three in Cheltenham and one in Gloucester. There are nearly 11,000 students,
including international students from 44 countries, who choose to study at the University every year.

Among the three campuses in Cheltenham, is the Park campus (the main one where I had all the lectures),
which is amazing and beautiful, with a lake and a lot of leafy setting.

    THE CLASSROOM

The majority of students was from England, in  every class I attended, I was one of the very few
exchange students. This was kind of good for my english level due to the fact everybody had a fluent
and native english speaking. And on the other side i was able to meet few erasmus students from germany
    for example or Portugal, etc.

    CLASS CONTENT

During this semester I had to pick up 4 Modules, one module being worth 15 uk credits equivalent of 7.5 UCTS.
To remain focused on the management and business aspect of studies i chose those ones:

    - Managing Corporate and Social Responsibilities (CSR)

In this module, we approached ethic business, and its historical roots. We also approached it in
a concrete way by doing few assessments about current big companies. Indeed we analysed their decision-
making, results, impacts, stakeholders management. The class was dynamic and interactive.

    - International Business

    - Music Industry Practice

    - Web Design (useful AND VERY INTERESTING ! for me because i have
    entrepreneurship projects)

  • GOOD MORNING ENGLAND...

In January, I took a plane going directly to Bristol, the nearest city with an airport.
Then I took a train from Bristol's station to finally arrive in Cheltenham (aprox. 40 minutes).
I was immediately welcomed by typical British atmosphere, architecture, and warm people
(Indeed I had a nice chat with the taxi driver once i came in Cheltenham).

In contrary to last year's Erasmus semester, I was very serene because I found my accommodation in
advance. And it was very easy, indeed the University of Gloucestershire in Cheltenham provides student rooms in various halls.
The prices can vary depending on the bathrooms and toilets whether they will be private or shared.
It still is a little bit expensive comparing to France. So I was able to "settle' immediately.
To conclude, the arrival was great with no particular difficulty, even the weather was great (unfortunately not for so long...)
